Aptly named the “Greatest Show Above Earth,” the Hyundai Air & Sea Show returns to Miami Beach this May 24-25 to wow both locals and visitors lined up along the shore. Take in the show-stopping view as F-16s, B-52s and dozens of different jets fly above the city, complete with divers, boats and parachute teams!
Free and open to the public, the beloved annual event will feature two days of various military aircraft, powerboat racing, extreme water sports, musical performances and much more.
In addition to the action, there’s certainly no shortage of engaging activities for all to enjoy. Florida Power & Light will present the multi-block Patriot Display Village, which will feature an Action Zone, the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Kids Zone, extreme sports demos and Mission BBQ food court. There will also be interactive military equipment on display, including helicopters, tactical gear and simulators, along with corporate activations.
This year’s Music Explosion Concert, on Saturday, May 25, will feature U.S. military bands and the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival Orchestra before ending the night with dazzling fireworks and 3D projection mapping. It will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Year after year, the spectacular family-friendly event highlights the men, women, technology and equipment from all five branches of the United States Military as well as local police, firefighters and their first responder agencies.
“There is no better time than Memorial Day weekend to pay tribute to our military, First Responders, and those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our freedom,” said Mickey Markoff, Hyundai Air & Sea Show Executive Producer.
Where To Watch The Hyundai Air & Sea Show
Admission is free on both days for any beach-goers, and considering the show itself takes place both in the sky and in the water, you can’t go wrong with a prime beach view. Interactive military and civilian displays will run from noon to 6 p.m. on both days, and special demos and performances will occur several times throughout the day. While the show flies all over Miami Beach, all the action will be stationed along Ocean Drive between 11th and 14th streets at Lummus Park.
Public viewing is available from 1st Street to 10th Street and from 12th Street to 21st Street.
You can find more information and frequent updates on their website here. The event will also be live-streamed on the site, beginning at noon on both days. Have a blessed Memorial Day, Miami!
