Grab your running shoes! An Olympic-themed playground is taking over Miami Design District’s Jungle Plaza, marking an exciting few weeks ahead for sports enthusiasts.
In anticipation of the upcoming Olympic Games, Swiss luxury watchmaker OMEGA has put together an interactive running track complete with starting blocks and a photofinisher camera, along with five table tennis tables and a playground for the littlest of aspiring Olympians.
The brand prides itself as the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932, serving the role for the 31st time when the competition begins on July 26 in Paris. You can catch the games at one of these Miami spots.
Throughout the weeks-long takeover, a French café and bakery concept will be on hand to provide refreshments and sweet treats to visitors. A massive mural will also serve as the backdrop of the courtyard, displaying Bebe Vio, four-time Paralympic medal winner in Fencing and OMEGA Ambassador, in a duel.
The pop-up aims to bring the Olympic spirit to locals of all ages, so there’s no need to hop on a flight for a piece of the action. Near the activation, you’ll find OMEGA’s Design District boutique, where there will be more inspiring visuals, timekeeping equipment and, of course, the timepieces worn by many of the world’s finest athletes.
The pop-up will run for the duration of the Games, from the opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, until the closing ceremony on Sunday, August 11.
