We may be known for our Cuban fare here in Miami, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy a great slice of ‘za every now and then. So in honor of National Pizza Day, we thought we’d put together a list of some of the best places around the city where you can enjoy a pie in all of its ooey-gooey, cheesy and crispy glory.

1. The Big Cheese of Miami, South Miami
This classic pizza spot near UMiami been feeding hungry locals for the past 25 years. Famous for its hearty and cheesy pizzas, this pizzeria might be responsible for helping many of us gain those dreaded Freshman 15, but they’re absolutely worth it. The Big Cheese has plenty of pizzas on offer including the Miami Slice, a locally-inspired pizza featuring sweet baked ham, creamy ricotta cheese and pineapple topped with cinnamon.

2. Lucali, South Beach
If you’re a fan of NY-style pizza then Lucali is the place to go. This Miami Beach spot specializes in Brooklyn-style brick oven pizza, serving whole pies of thin, crisp pies covered in cheesy goodness. Plus, they also have a special Nutella pie for dessert, perfect for the most fervent of pizza lovers out there.

3. Stanzione 87, Brickell
Get a taste of the original Neapolitan pizza at Stanzione 87. This Brickell outpost cooks its pies in wood-fired ovens, makes its mozzarella cheese fresh each morning and lets its dough ferment over 72 hours to obtain maximum Neapolitan perfection! And if you feel like putting your pizzaiolo skills to the test, Stanzione 87 is now also offering pizza kits to take home with you.

4. Frankie’s Pizza, Olympia Heights
This Miami landmark has been serving pizzas since 1955! With a secret recipe that has been guarded for over 60 years, this Olympia Heights spot is known for its extra crispy, square-cut pies. At Frankie’s, you can choose to enjoy your pie straight out of the oven in their patio or take their “half-baked” pizzas to go so you can finish cooking them at home.

5. Pizza Tropical, Wynwood
Located in Gramps’ back patio, this little pizza window is also a great option if you like NY-style pies (also great if you’ve had one too many Moscow Mules). Pizza Tropical is currently offering all its pies along with some delicious cafecito for take out. Most popular options to try? Definitely their “El Mushroomo Pie” with freshly-cooked mushrooms or their “El Queso Slice” cause you can never go wrong with a classic cheesy slice of ‘za.

6. Andiamo! Brick Oven Pizza, Little Haiti
This Italo-American enclave is perfect for those who like to get creative with their pizza toppings. At Andiamo! you can choose to build your own pizza with all of your favorite toppings. Of course, you can always go classic and enjoy a classic New Yorker or Pepperoni pie. Plus they have some pretty amazing outdoor seating!

7. Ironside Kitchen, Little River
Bring a bottle of your favorite wine to this BYOB spot in Little River and pop it open to enjoy with a classic Neapolitan pie. Plus, pizzas at Ironside are the perfect size for one person, so you won’t have to worry about sharing!

8. Mora Pizza, Wynwood
This one is for those of you looking for a Vegan option. All you gotta do is text the number on their Instagram page to ask for their option and you’ll be set for a flavorful adventure. With specials like buffalo chicken, garlic parm and strawberry shortcake, their slices are nothing short of wonderful ( and plant-based)

9. Farinelli 1937, Coconut Grove
This traditional Italian spot in Coconut Grove will take you all around Italy in one bite. Paying homage to Maurizio Farinelli’s grandmother and her eponymous pizzeria in Bologna, Farinelli prepares its pies following a traditional Italian recipe and tops them with fresh ingredients meant to take you on a tour of the beautiful Italian provinces.

10.Miami’s Best Pizza, Coral Gables
As you can tell by its name, this Coral Gables spot has been delivering some of the best pies in the Magic City since the 70s. You can count on Miami’s Best Pizza for extra garlic-y and delicious slices of pizza, classic pies and more!
