Add this one to your weekend to-do list, Miami! Aventura Mall’s shiny slide tower is reopening on Saturday, November 9th and we’re all about reliving our best childhood memories in style.
The functional artwork was designed by German sculptor Carsten Höller for Aventura Mall’s 2017 three-story wing expansion and features two spiral steel slides which people can actually ride down through. Known for his large-scale artworks that draw upon amusement parks, playgrounds and zoos, Höller wanted to bring a sense of joy and a feeling “somewhere between delight and madness” to the slide which can be enjoyed from the inside sliding down or from downstairs while staring up at the whimsical structure — and let us tell you that the slide is way too much fun to ride, no matter your age.
And the best part is, it’s completely free to ride! All you got to do is go up its spiral staircase, jump on a rug that will help ease your way down and enjoy the exhilarating ride!
The Aventura Slide Tower is typically open for slides every weekend. Stay tuned for dates and times. You can find more information on Aventura Mall’s website.
