Another year, another slay! Miami’s biggest June party is back for its fourth year and you don’t need to buy a ticket to take part in all the fun. Set in the city’s arts district, Wynwood Pride is promising a weekend full of stellar artists, jaw-dropping drag, sickening art installations, and tons of glitter.
On June 10-11, headliners Azealia Banks and MARINA (Marina and the Diamonds) are scheduled to set the stage ablaze in addition to drag superstars Violet Chachki, Gottmik, and Miss Toto. Also on the lineup: Slayyyter, Cupcakke, Chapman, Fatherhood, Noa Kirel, and many more. Fans planning to attend can purchase tickets starting at $50.
Last year’s artists lit up The Oasis but the festival is now coming to the RC Cola Plant at 550 NW 24th St. The soda plant was once abandoned until it was turned into a venue for big shows like this one, complete with rainbow-hued graffiti perfect for Pride Month!
In addition to the fierce moments you’re sure to see during the main event, the celebration will encompass the rest of Wynwood for an all-day neighborhood takeover on Sunday, June 12. In true inclusive fashion, everyone is welcome to celebrate Miami’s LGBTQ+ community with the addition of free events and activations at area venues, including street art and surprise appearances. Sashay on over to R House or the newly opened Crusoe Cabana Deluxe to enjoy special drag brunches as part of the takeover.
The first Wynwood Pride took place in 2019 and brought out more than 50,000 attendees, but it had to go virtual the following year due to the pandemic. Despite the obstacle it faced, the fun returned in its third iteration with a focus on local businesses in the area. For 2022, it is taking things further by benefiting Equality Florida, a non-profit organization challenging the controversial “Don’t Say Gay” law. Not only are you celebrating the legacy of Pride, but supporting real legislative change.
