Another year, another slay! Miami’s biggest June party is back for its fifth year and this time around, they’re rolling out festivities for more than just two days. Set in the city’s arts district, Wynwood Pride is expanding with a month full of stellar artists, jaw-dropping drag, sickening art, non-stop parties and more.
Following a panel discussion at PAMM and a rooftop pool party atop the trendy Arlo Hotel, the celebration continues this weekend, June 9th, with Miss Toto’s FunDimension. The ultimate drag party will, of course, feature the iconic Miss Toto and headliners from RuPaul’s Drag Race for lip-sync battles, a ‘GSPOT’ fashion show and dance parties as well as countless arcade games, VR and laser tag.
Then on Saturday, June 10th, Tinashe is scheduled to set the stage ablaze as headliner in addition to Ty Sunderland, Dahlia Sin and Athena Dion. Last year’s artists, including Azealia Banks and Marina Diamandis lit up the once-abandoned RC Cola Plant, but the performances will once again grace The Oasis stage.
In addition to the fierce performances, the Wynwood Pride takeover will encompass the rest of the neighborhood for several afterparties, a Pride Bar Crawl, a special Smorgasburg event and more.
The first Wynwood Pride took place in 2019 and brought out more than 50,000 attendees, but it had to go virtual the following year due to the pandemic. Despite the obstacle it faced, the fun returned in its third iteration with a focus on local businesses in the area. For 2022, it took things further with the addition of free events and activations at area venues, including street art and surprise appearances.
There are still more events expected to be announced, so click here to visit their website and see this year’s full schedule.
