1-3. Enjoy a magical, candlelit holiday concert in a stunning Miami setting

Step into Miami’s most exquisite spaces to experience some of the most treasured holiday classics. From Ella Fitzgerald to Gershwin, the beloved Candlelight series is bringing talented musicians to perform at venues, illuminated with hundreds of candles this December. This holiday season you’ll be able to enjoy three different special concerts series including:

4. Visit Santa’s Enchanted Forest in Hialeah Park

This year, Santa’s will be open at Hialeah Park all  throughout the Holiday season until Sunday, January 2, 2022. The park will hold regular hours from 5 p.m. to midnight every day (note: the park may close at 1:30 a.m. on busy nights and weekends) and will be open during all holidays.  Tickets start at $37.38 per adult and $28.04 per child for a single day pass. Seasonal passes and special discounts are also available and all tickets include access to carnival rides, roller coasters, shows, light displays and parking.

Go sledding in South Florida at the 59th edition of Christmas on Las Olas! Featuring a manmade hill with artificial snow, Christmas on Las Olas is the perfect place to go sledding around the Miami area. But if this is not your idea of having a sleighing time, this winter wonderland also features three different stages where you’ll be able to enjoy cheerful holiday shows by the local school and church choirs. Christmas on Las Olas opens on Tuesday, December 30!

21. And catch Fort Lauderdale’s bright Winterfest boat parade while you’re at it!


The best part about things slowly returning to normal is being able to enjoy our favorite holiday traditions just like we used to, and that includes watching Seminole’s famous Winterfest Boat Parade! This classic of the holidays in South Florida was forced to go virtual due to the pandemic, but it’s now returning in full force to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

24. Catch a show of the Miami City Ballet’s Nutcracker production

The Miami City Ballet is going on the road with George Balanchine’s magical production of The Nutcracker to spread the holiday magic across the 305. And after taking the production outdoors for some covid-friendly shows last year, this year the production will be at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale from Friday, December 10, through Sunday, December 12; at the Adrienne Arsht Center from Thursday, December 16, through Sunday, December 26; and at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach starting Wednesday, December 29, through Thursday, December 30!

25. Go for a Jingle Bell Jog

Jog along the streets of South Florida with hundreds of other jolly Santa Clauses as part of this holiday-themed run taking place in multiple cities across the country including Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach. Organizers will provide you with your very own Santa suit, hat and white beard as well as some bells to tie onto your running shoes for some extra jolliness! The Jingle Bell Jog will be taking place on Saturday, December 11, at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West and on Saturday, December 18, at Las Olas Oceanside Park. Registration is $45 per person. Children can also join the shorter Kids Elf Dash for $20.

29. Watch Van Gogh’s paintings come to life at the Olympia Theatre’s Van Gogh: Immersive Experience before it’s gone!

Although not exactly holiday-themed, Olympia Theatre’s dazzling immersive Van Gogh experience is the perfect plan to add to your holiday bucket list for some extra magic. Artwork from the iconic post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh will come to life this month in a 360-degree digital spectacle that’ll illuminate and transform the physical space into a fully immersive exhibit. 30. Play in the Florida snow and go snow tubbing at Snowcat Ridge, the state’s only snow park!

Yes, the drive up to Dade City is about four hours, but seeing as snow is an all-impossible phenomenon here in Florida don’t let that deter you from experiencing the cold alpine weather and go snow tubing in the heart of our tropical state!
