Looks like December and the holidays are going back to normal this year and there’s plenty of merry and bright things to do about town. So without further ado here are some wonderful things to do in Miami this December!
1. Explore Art Basel and everything it has to offer
This year, Art Basel Miami Beach is kicking off on Tuesday, November 30, with special VIP and media previews and will feature tons of digital art and NFT exhibits, dozens of public art installations, and plenty of more stunning artworks! 2. Go strawberry picking
December has arrived in the Magic City and with it so has strawberry season! While heading straight for the beach on a hot, sunny day might be your first choice for winter in Miami, but why not pick your very own strawberries? A different kind of winter activity, picking your own berries in one of the many charming farms surrounding the Magic City can be a totally unusual yet fun way of spending winter in the city. You can still experience an absolutely magical (and safe) winter here in Miami, and part of that is thanks to the amazing outdoor spaces the city has to offer. 7. Check out the Esmé Hotel, Española way newest addition.

22. Visit Santa’s Enchanted Forest in Hialeah Park
This year, Santa’s will be open at Hialeah Park all throughout the Holiday season until Sunday, January 2, 2022. The park will hold regular hours from 5 p.m. to midnight every day (note: the park may close at 1:30 a.m. on busy nights and weekends) and will be open during all holidays. Tickets start at $37.38 per adult and $28.04 per child for a single day pass. Seasonal passes and special discounts are also available and all tickets include access to carnival rides, roller coasters, shows, light displays and parking.

It may feel like it’s summer all year long here in Miami but that doesn’t mean we cannot indulge in wintery activities like ice skating. And while most ice skating rinks in Miami are open all year long, this quintessential winter activity is perfect for getting into the holiday mood and feeling extra festive! On Saturday, December 4, go crazy for croquetas at Croqueta Palooza! Celebrate Miami’s absolute favorite snack by munching on the best croquetas in town. 28. Watch Van Gogh’s paintings come to life at the Olympia Theatre’s Van Gogh: Immersive Experience before it’s gone!
Although not exactly holiday-themed, Olympia Theatre’s dazzling immersive Van Gogh experience is the perfect plan to add to your holiday bucket list for some extra magic. Artwork from the iconic post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh will come to life this month in a 360-degree digital spectacle that’ll illuminate and transform the physical space into a fully immersive exhibit. 29 – 36. Spend a magical evening with these eclectic concerts at Palapa in Upper Buena Vista
Upper Buena Vista’s enchanting Palapa Miami is hosting a series of unique and intimate concerts featuring a wide range of genres and performers — and it’s the perfect way to enjoy a magical night out in Miami in a safe and socially distant way. no festive season to-do list would be complete without a tour of Miami’s most dazzling holiday light shows. And after a year that had many of Miami’s most treasured holiday traditions taking a break due to COVID-19, this year they’re all returning in full force for a magical festive season in the Magic City.
52. Celebrate Christmas at the 100 Foot Christmas Tree village in Delray Beach
The magical mammoth of a tree has been named “Best Tree in the State of Florida” by Travel+ Leisure multiple times before and features thousands of twinkling lights that are bound to warm up even the coldest of hearts. The tree lighting ceremony is taking place on Tuesday, November 30, but there will still be plenty of jolly activities and events to check out at the 100 Foot Christmas Tree Village. There will be a holiday carousel ($3 per ride), holiday parades, cookies, cocoa and crafts and ice skating perfect for pretending you’ve just been whisked away to the North Pole ($3 per session plus rentals).
53. And catch Fort Lauderdale’s bright Winterfest boat parade while you’re at it!
The best part about things slowly returning to normal is being able to enjoy our favorite holiday traditions just like we used to, and that includes watching Seminole’s famous Winterfest Boat Parade! This classic of the holidays in South Florida was forced to go virtual due to the pandemic, but it’s now returning in full force to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
54. Find the perfect gift at one of Miami’s holiday markets
Christmastime is swiftly approaching, the holiday lights are going up, and many of us have already started working on our holiday shopping lists. And that’s what holiday markets are here for. Get your Christmas spirit on while helping out local vendors and getting your shopping done!
55. Catch a show of the Miami City Ballet’s Nutcracker production
The Miami City Ballet is going on the road with George Balanchine’s magical production of The Nutcracker to spread the holiday magic across the 305. And after taking the production outdoors for some covid-friendly shows last year, this year the production will be at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale from Friday, December 10, through Sunday, December 12; at the Adrienne Arsht Center from Thursday, December 16, through Sunday, December 26; and at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach starting Wednesday, December 29, through Thursday, December 30!
56. Go for a Jingle Bell Jog
Jog along the streets of South Florida with hundreds of other jolly Santa Clauses as part of this holiday-themed run taking place in multiple cities across the country including Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach. Organizers will provide you with your very own Santa suit, hat and white beard as well as some bells to tie onto your running shoes for some extra jolliness! The Jingle Bell Jog will be taking place on Saturday, December 11, at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West and on Saturday, December 18, at Las Olas Oceanside Park. Registration is $45 per person. Children can also join the shorter Kids Elf Dash for $20.
