Pickleball has become one of the fastest growing sports in the country and it’s taken South Florida by storm. But we don’t need to tell you that. In the spirit of the sport’s immense popularity, an exciting opening has arrived north of Miami — the world’s first pickleball stadium!
Actually north of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, The Fort is a brand-new venue taking over Snyder Park. It offers a 4,000 sq. ft. event space, fitness and recovery center, pro shop and 43 professional courts, including 14 that are weatherproofed so players can keep the game going. With an impressive array of courts, the facility is also designed to hold up to 2,000 spectators.

Not just centered around the sport, visitors can also enjoy sweeping views of a 7-acre lake, live music, paddleboarding, volleyball, a dart room, golf simulators and luxury suites. At The Lakehouse, which is scheduled to open later this year, made-from-scratch dishes and signature drinks will be available.

The brainchild of co-founders and longtime locals Brad Tuckman and Rich Campillo, The Fort aims to support the community and make a difference, whether it be with local charities to youth and senior programs, hosting fundraising events and providing pickleball equipment and training to local public schools.
It opened after hosting its first major tournament, the Humana APP Fort Lauderdale Open, where pickleball pros, amateurs and viewers from all over the country gathered for five days of elite competition.

Members and non-members alike can find The Fort at 891 SW 34th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315. More information, membership packages and day passes can be found on their website.
