It’s Croqueta Day in the 305 and Sergio’s is going all out with the longest croqueta in the world!
Happy Croqueta Day Miami! Today we celebrate those deep-fried morsels of pure bechamel-y goodness we all love so much and Sergio’s Restaurant is going all out by attempting to cook the mother of all croquetas!
Miami-Dade County first declared October 1 its honorary Croqueta Day back in 2018 to celebrate Sergio’s selling its 20 millionth croqueta. This October 1, Sergio’s will be celebrating its 46th anniversary by making the world’s longest croqueta. In an event co-hosted with Only in Dade, Sergio’s will be throwing a “watch party” at its Coral Way location so that everyone can witness this behemoth being cooked irl!
The chosen flavor is of course jamón and the restaurant has even developed a special, 7-foot-long deep fryer to cook this one-of-a-kind croqueta to perfection. The event will start this Friday, October 1, at 5 p.m. and will feature free refreshments by Hatuey Beer, Bacardi and Redbull. Will you witness Sergio’s make history?
