Miami’s Design District is known for its luxurious shops, edgy art, creative architecture and trendy restaurants. And now, a pop-up by Swiss watchmaker OMEGA has opened the garden gate to an enchanting space in the neighborhood’s Jungle Plaza.
It’s a Baroque-style garden that marks the full evolution of women’s watches and its changing styles. It serves as a tribute to the diverse attitudes, styles and personalities of women all over the world, as well as the brand’s secret jewelry watches of the early 20th century.
However, there’s a modern twist. Trailing down an inspiring display of vintage posters, you can walk into secret rooms for special photo backdrops. There’s a whimsical room in all-gold, and another filled with a French-inspired Toile de Jouy pattern which is featured on the straps of OMEGA’s latest De Ville Mini Trésor watches.
Of course, because it is the warmest time of the year in already-boiling hot Miami, there are chairs and plenty of umbrellas in this tranquil setting for shade.
At the end of the journey, a gazebo displays images of all seven of the brand’s talented ambassadors: Nicole Kidman, Zoë Kravitz, Allyson Felix, So-hee Han, Dongyu Zhou, Kaia Gerber and Kiko Mizuhara. They are all captured in beautiful black and white, alongside their empowering quotes. Throughout the decades, countless numbers of incredible women have marked their moments with OMEGA and are proud to continue the tradition.
The Secret Garden is here to stay until Sunday, August 14. It is free for the public and opens Monday through Saturday at 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Sundays, the garden is open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Miami Design District’s Jungle Plaza is located at 3801 NE 1st Ave.
