Every now and then, we’ve got to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner. No matter the occasion, whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary or simply splurging on the finer food in life, there’s no shortage of restaurants to choose from in the city. But there’s one Florida establishment that is sure to cost you a pretty penny — more than any other in the state. And it’s actually right here in Miami!
What is the most expensive restaurant in Florida?
According to a new ranking of the priciest meals in every U.S. state by LoveFood, topping the list for the Sunshine State is none other than L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon! The picks were based on the priciest main course or tasting menu, avoiding spots with just one very expensive dish.
Here’s what the site had to say about the opulent Miami Design District destination:
“Slick and chic L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon boasts two Michelin stars (the most in Florida) and serves a seasonal four-course tasting menu priced at $195, as well as an Evolution tasting menu with a dedicated lobster course for $295, plus add-ons. There’s also an à la carte menu featuring a crispy poached egg with caviar and smoked salmon for $95.”
With those prices, it’s certainly the type of spot you’re going for a special occasion or if you’re willing to spend big on a once-in-a-lifetime meal.
About Miami’s only two-starred restaurant
Named after the late Joël Robuchon, who was once considered the “Chef of the Century,” the Miami outpost is known for its modern French cuisine and inventive seasonal creations. Opening back in 2019, the glamorous jewel-toned space features a 34-seat chef’s counter that faces a sleek open kitchen, allowing diners to get a front row seat to all the action.
Impressively retaining its two-star Michelin rating since 2022, L’Atelier has the unique distinction of being Florida’s first (and Miami’s only) two-starred restaurant.
