Did you know that the Miami-Dade Public Library System offers free admission to local attractions like the Coral Gables Museum, The Bass, Museum of Graffiti, Pérez Art Museum Miami and even Zoo Miami?
It’s a part of their Museum Pass Program and cardholders can visit their nearest branch and meet with library staff or search through the online catalog and use their library card to check one out. The passes — distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved for a specific date — provide free entry into 17 cultural institutions!
Other participants in the program include, but are not limited to:
- Fruit & Spice Park
- HistoryMiami Museum
- Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum
- Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science
These museum savings are worth it, especially since it can be costly for families of four to enter. So if you want to finally experience some of the city’s cultural gems — alone, with friends or with the fam — this is your best chance to do so.
That said, passes provide one day of free admission for up to a family of four, with age requirements at Deering Estate (two adults and two children ages 4‑14), Fruit & Spice Park (two adults and two children ages 6‑11) and Zoo Miami (two adults and two children ages 3‑12).
The only limitations are that only one pass can be checked out at a time, which becomes valid for seven days from the time of check out, and there are a limited number of passes per branch, so make the most of every visit!
