
Cervecería La Tropical, Cuba’s oldest brewery, has finally opened the doors to its brand new brewery and restaurant in Wynwood!
Atención Miamians! You can now get a refreshing taste of Cuba at Wynwood’s new Cervecería La Tropical. Featuring plenty of brewing space, tasty Latinamerican food and a gorgeous beer garden that’s an absolute tropical dream, ya tu sabes que La Tropical is the next stop on our bucket list for some fresh pints of cerveza!
Founded by the Blanco-Herrera and Kohly families in Cuba back in 1888, La Tropical was the island’s oldest and most important brewery, amounting to 60% of the annual beer production in Cuba by the 1960s. Over the years it became a product of national pride. Now after more than 20 years of hard work to bring his family’s factory its old glory back, CEO and owner Manny Portuondo, has finally opened the doors to La Tropical’s gorgeous new Wynwood enclave!
At La Tropical’s new 28,000-foot-square factory, you’ll not only find a state-of-the-art plant capable of producing 32,000 hectoliters a year, but also a stunning taproom and garden where you can sample said 32,000 hectoliters of beer — pero, make sure to leave some for us!
Miami’s youngest brewery offers four kinds of brews including La Original, the cervecería’s famous Vienna-style ámbar lager, the Nativo Key, a Suave IPA with exotic notas of mango, passion fruit, pineapple, lemon and lime, La India, an IPA with tropical hints of papaya, guava, melon, and allspice, and last but not least, the Gasolina, a high octane tropical Double IPA with sweet hints of citrus, pineapple, guava and grapefruit notes.
The best part? At La Tropical, you can ask them to pour your pint straight from the tank for absolute freshness and sabor! Not to mention, you can pair it with some delicious bites like sea salt tostones, tequeños, empanadas and croquetas, just to mention a few.
Plus its gorgeous beer garden full of luscious tropical plants, colorful murals and décor inspired by the brewery’s old factory and gardens in Cuba, makes for the perfect spot in which to relax and enjoy the sunny days ahead while sipping on a fresh pint!
La Tropical’s Wynwood brewery and restaurant are open Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. and weekends from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. and requires no prior reservations, all you need do to enjoy a beer or two is stop by and say hola!
