Rockstar Games has unveiled the first trailer for the Grand Theft Auto VI, which takes place in Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami that perfectly captures its essence. The trailer, set to Tom Petty’s “Love is a Long Road,” features several scenes that are pretty accurate to South Florida.
Take a look at it below:
In between Spring Breakers flooding Miami Beach, gators entering stores, twerking on top of cars and a nod to the “Miami Joker,” this is quite literally the most Miami thing we’ve ever seen. Here are some more things the trailer captured that are spot on to the Magic City:
1. South Beach
The trailer opens with a shot of South Beach and there’s a couple of recognizable hotels like the Royal Palm, as well as an aerial banner reading, “Nine1Nine.” Could that be their version of E11even?
2. Ocean Drive
There’s also a shot of supercars lined up on neon-lit Ocean Drive with what’s clearly Hotel Breakwater and Hotel Victor in the background.
3. MacArthur Causeway
A car rolls down MacArthur Causeway and in the distance: the Kaseya Center! Can we attend Heat games in the next GTA?
4. Alligator taken out of a pool
There’s a lot of Florida Man™ details shown in the trailer as well, including a man wrangling an alligator out of a swimming pool. Earlier this year, an 8-foot alligator was captured from a woman’s pool around Orlando, so there’s that.
5. Club Space
Oh yes, Club Space even makes a brief appearance!
6. Airboats gliding through the Everglades
We see flamingos, marshes and an airboat ride through the Everglades (Gator Keys?).
7. Wynwood
Call us crazy but isn’t that a Ahol Sniffs Glue mural?
While this isn’t the first time we see Vice City in Grand Theft Auto, the upcoming sixth game is set to be released in 2025. For more information, visit Rockstar Games’ website.
