With the 2025 Club World Cup and 2026 World Cup on the horizon, soccer is on everybody’s mind right now. And the sport continues to thrive in the city as FC Barcelona will now be moving its American commercial operations to Miami from New York.
The La Liga club announced that it will relocate its U.S. business hub to downtown Miami after reaching an agreement with the Miami Downtown Development Authority, which provided a business incentive grant.
“From youth leagues to diehard fans, look around Miami and it’s clear we are a city that loves soccer,” said Christina Crespi, CEO and Executive Director of the Miami DDA. “This move not only strengthens our identity as a premier destination for world-class sports but will also fuel significant economic growth and create new jobs in the urban core.”
While FC Barcelona is looking for an office and at least 5,000 square feet of retail space, the new HQ will focus on managing its regional assets, promoting new opportunities to bring in potential investors and providing the best Barça experiences to fans.
Club President Joan Laporta also made a statement, saying, “We look forward to exploring all the synergies that can be established to provide the best Barça experiences to our fans throughout America.”
The former team of Lionel Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami CF, opened its first U.S. office in New York back in 2016. It currently operates two Barça Academies Pro in Miami and NY, a Residency Academy in Arizona, and Academies across Chicago, the Carolinas and Austin. In 2024 alone, more than 54 soccer camps were held in 35 U.S. cities, with nearly 8,000 players participating.
