Testing at Doris Ion is taking place Monday through Friday, 9 am-12 pm and the nonprofit is asking all eligible patients to call first at 305-252-4820 to schedule an appointment.
In order to be eligible for testing, patients must have recently traveled to the affected areas or must have been in close contact with people who have. They must also be experiencing regular symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, coughing and difficulty breathing. All those presenting severe symptoms are being asked to go directly to the ER.

On Wednesday the nonprofit ran out of supplies 45 minutes prior to closing but is expected to continue testing today. CHI South Florida is also expected to open a second drive-thru testing site at its Marathon Health Center ( 2805 Overseas Hwy) location in the Florida Keys by Mar 23.
Meanwhile, Gov. DeSantis has also announced the state’s first mobile testing center would soon be established in Broward county. Tests will be conducted free of charge. More state drive-thru centers might be opening according to DeSantis, who said they would be looking into opening new ones as the situation “evolves in other parts of the states.”
