An upscale retreat is coming to the small Bahamian island of Bimini, which is located a mere 48 nautical miles east of Miami. There’ll be a few ways to get to the forthcoming Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences if you wish to, whether by boat or a high-speed ferry which should take about 40 minutes, or a helicopter ride with a local charter like HeliFlite, which would take 25 minutes.
Banyan Group, the hospitality brand behind numerous resorts, spas and residences, announced that it is making its first venture into the Caribbean market with this idyllic retreat. Spearheaded by Rockwell Island Development Group, it will also bring the region’s first overwater villas.
Set to open next year, the 750-acre property will comprise of 54 waterfront residences, an onsite beach club and 50-room hotel with overwater bungalows. More specifically, the hotel will have 24 beachfront villas and 26 overwater accommodations, akin to what you’d see in the Maldives.
It’s as exclusive as it gets, with private residences — each with a private dock and nearby beach access — starting at $3.5 million. The resort would be priced from $3,000 per night, as reported by Bloomberg. Additionally, the Bonito Beach Club will offer everything from VIP table service to private cabanas and yachting and tender services.
The Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences will be situated on Rockwell Island, a secluded peninsula surrounded by crystal-clear waters and nestled within natural beauty. Looking ahead, additional plans for the resort include a deepwater marina, a private 18-hole golf course, and a members’ only clubhouse.
