Driving through traffic in the city really gets us down. Not to mention, having to find a parking spot that’s actually affordable. In an effort to boost local businesses during what is typically one of the slower (and hotter) periods of the year, the City of Miami Beach is rolling out a flat $1-per-hour parking rate for the months of July and August! The discounted rate applies to municipal parking lots, garages and on-street parking throughout the city.
“Summer is here and we welcome everyone to enjoy Miami Beach with our lowest parking rates ever,” Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez said in a press release. “With $1 hourly parking and incredible seasonal offerings like Miami Spa Month and Miami Spice, this is the perfect time to explore, unwind and savor all that Miami Beach has to offer.”
How to get $1 summer parking in Miami Beach
The offer is only available through the ParkMobile app, in which users will receive up to three discounted hours per parking session and up to 45 total discounted hours throughout the two-month period. When opening the app, enter the zone number and a pop-up banner will appear with a promo code.
Not only do the reduced parking rates ease the burden on drivers, but restaurants, shops and small businesses are supported by increasing foot traffic in the area. And with major events around the corner like Miami Spice, it’s the perfect way to roam the city without worrying about high parking fees.
