The FIFA World Cup is upon us and if you’ve spent any time on our roads lately, you know traffic is on another level. In an effort to keep fans moving smoothly between the mainland and the beach, the City of Miami Beach has announced extended hours for its complimentary water taxis during final match days in the city.
The free service, which runs from the Venetian Marina and Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, will operate during the following times:
- Saturday, July 18: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- Sunday, July 19: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Perfect for catching a watch party at the Miami Beach Bandshell, hunting down your country’s inflatable soccer ball or simply getting across town, a dedicated shuttle service (also free) will connect visitors to major hubs every 15 minutes, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Stops on July 18-19 include:
- Maurice Gibb Park: Boat ramp at 19th St & Purdy Ave
- 41st Street & Pine Tree Drive Garage (G6)
- Miami Beach Bandshell: 7275 Collins Ave
Additionally, if you’re driving into the area, your best bet is so park and hop on one of the city’s Park & Ride shuttles. Operating every 10 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., the shuttles will travel from the Miami Beach Rowing Club (6500 Indian Creek Drive) to the 67 Street parking garage (opening soon), and then continue to the Miami Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Avenue).
Another route includes shuttles between the parking surface lots on 83-85 streets and the Miami Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Avenue).
