As Mariah Carey famously puts it, “It’s tiiiiiiiiiime!” And what better way to get into the spirit of the season than by witnessing the most dazzling array of holiday lights? When it comes to said festive magic, South Florida’s premier drive-thru is the gift that keeps on giving.
Of course, we’re talking about the beloved tradition known as the Holiday Fantasy of Lights, which has been going on for 31 years! It’ll be returning to Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek with countless sparkling lights and large-scale displays. Throughout the 3-mile route, soak in all the Christmas cheer and illuminated figures, from giant holiday trees and gleaming candy canes to frosty snowmen.
Along with that, you can choose to add 3D glasses to really bring the experience to life, and tune into jolly beats through FM radio.
The spectacle of lights and music is a must-see for families, friends and couples looking for a magical outing this winter — at least from the comfort of their own cars! And pets are welcome to join, as long as they remain inside the vehicle.
Don’t want to take your car? There are other ways to enjoy the lights!
Before the drive-thru season officially begins, the park is actually hosting a couple of opportunities to experience the lights either by foot or bike. A walking night, dubbed “Stroll Through the Lights,” will take place Friday, November 14. And there will be two biking nights on November 15 and 16, if you prefer to still roll down the pathway of twinkling lights.
More information for the Holiday Fantasy of Lights can be found on their website. Of course, tis the season of giving and in honor of that, a portion of all proceeds from the event will benefit Gilda’s Club South Florida, a local organization providing free support for those affected by cancer.
