If you feel like you’re drowning in a sea of pink teddy bears, chocolate hearts and everything that comes with the ultimate day of romance for couples — a.k.a. Valentine’s Day — that doesn’t mean you can’t make it an amazing day for yourself. There’s tons of things you can do to express love, which doesn’t have to be just the romantic type.
These are the best ways to spend your February 14th, whether you’re showing how much love you have for yourself or your besties with a ‘Galentine’s’ Day:
1. Venture to Hawkins at Stranger Things: The Official Store
Because love can be scary and strange at times, why not take yourself on a date and immerse yourself in one of Netflix’s biggest shows ever? Walk through Hawkins High, Starcourt Mall and even the Palace Arcade, and while you’re there, gift yourself some official gear or nostalgic candy. The pop-up store leaves Aventura Mall on Feb. 26, so don’t miss your chance to go! Reserve your spot in line here.
2. Gather your singles crew for a Love Antidote Party at Copper 29
Grab your closest friends and head over to the Miracle Mile bar for a fun-filled Valentine’s. Besides late-night partying, guests will enjoy a special pop-up by Maker’s Mark featuring two special cocktails of the night and a special love antidote shot duo-flight consisting of the “Love” shot and “Anti-love” shot. Upon entering, ladies will be welcomed with complimentary red roses to start the night off right and happy hour will run from 5 to 7pm.
3. Or grab your gals and furry pals for a Girl’s Best Friend mixer
Show love to your best friends, canine and humans alike, by treating them to ADDiKT Modern Kitchen, W Miami’s signature rooftop restaurant. That’s right, a girl’s best friend includes her gals and pups! Sip on pet-inspired cocktails like the Meowtini and drink in the dreamy Miami skyline from their rooftop deck as you mingle with other dog lovers and their furriest of companions.
4. Let out your feelings in a rage room
If you’re feeling full of rage this V-Day, book a smashing session at the Smashit House in Davie. You and a friend (if you want company) can smash bottles and break electronics to your heart’s content, and even graffiti the walls in the room! They also offer axe throwing, indoor paintball target shooting and more. Who knows, you may even find it to be extremely cathartic….
5. Score a hole-in-one at Puttshack
During the most romantic time of the year, Puttshack welcomes couples, singles, families, friends, and groups to enjoy a high-energy, tech-infused mini golf experience. Located at Brickell City Centre, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy upscale dinner and cocktails while putting themed holes that include beer pong, trivia and more. On Valentine’s Day, they’re offering a complimentary photo op moment to capture every cheers, savage win and iconic dance move across the venue.
6. Watch a comedy al fresco
If you’re in need of a movie and cocktail night with the crew, especially under the stars, Rooftop Cinema Club will be screening Girl’s Trip at 6:15pm and Bridesmaids at 9:45pm on February 13. There will be delicious eats and drinks available on site, enough to satisfy any appetite.
7-8. Go to a nightclub
Say no to romance this Valentine’s Day by doing what Miamians do best — partying!
- LIV, Miami Beach: Clubbing and… cookies? On Feb. 11, dance the night away and get your hands on a rare cookie experience with Last Crumb. Available for purchase at LIV, savor an assortment of uniquely handcrafted cookies while taking in the high-energy atmosphere.
- Pilo’s, Wynwood: Celebrate the day of love while partying it up at the only tequila garden in the world, Pilo’s. They’ll have a special cocktail, Love Potion, available for the day (made with tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and strawberry & garnish with a sugar rim and a strawberry), in addition to a $200 Moët Rosé special.
