It’s that time of year again when downtown Miami transforms into a readers’ paradise as it hosts the longest-running literary festival in the U.S.: the Miami Book Fair! Whether you’re looking to meet Pulitzer-winning novelists, catch your favorite celebrities or just grab a cocktail and enjoy some live local music, this eight-day festival is stacked with nearly 500 authors from around the globe.
What to expect
The Miami Book Fair will return to Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus for its 43rd edition from November 15 to 22, and the highlights are nothing short of spectacular. It’ll be headlined by Margaret Atwood, Colson Whitehead, Tony Shalhoub, Bonnie Garmus and Salman Rushdie.

For the Evenings With Series, Whitehead will present the final novel in his Harlem Trilogy, “Cool Machine,” while Shalhoub and his daughter Josie Adams discuss their book about food and family. Garmus, author of “Lessons in Chemistry,” presents her second novel, “Peck & Peck.”
Another event will feature Jess Gibson on her debut story collection, “The Good Eye,” alongside Margaret Atwood and her memoir, “Book of Lives: A Memoir of Sorts.”
Plus, four newly announced National Book Awards finalists will make an appearance during the festival: Edwidge Danticat, Hannah Lillith Assadi, Camonghne Felix and Joseph Osmundson. Judy Blume will also be honored at the Next Page Dinner, a fourth annual fundraising dinner at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami.

Closing the Fair will be a celebration of Anne Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” for its 50th anniversary, with Christopher Rice, Eric Shaw Quinn and romantasy author Carissa Broadbent in a live taping of the “Dinner Partners” podcast.
Other highlights

The festival will kick off with a free opening day block party on November 15, celebrating the sounds that have shaped South Florida across generations. Visitors can expect food vendors, a full bar, books for sale and performances by Oscar G, Ciro Llerena and others.
Then, from November 20 to 22, the beloved Street Fair brings hundreds of booksellers and publishers, the Off the Shelf live music stage and the always-popular Children’s Alley to downtown Miami. Beyond author presentations, Children’s Alley brings interactive storytelling, live performances, hands-on science and creative activities to families throughout the weekend.
