With a skyline as radiant as Miami’s, a new addition to the city’s long list of rooftops is always welcome. Because what pairs better with gazing out over the city than a tasty cocktail?
The latest rooftop restaurant to add to the mix is from none other than singer Nick Jonas and menswear designer John Varvatos. The duo aims to bring the essence of Mexico’s finest to Miami Worldcenter — the $6 billion mixed-use development transforming the heart of downtown Miami — with Villa One Tequila Gardens. This will be the brand’s fourth location alongside Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles (also coming soon).
Set to open in 2025, the spot will offer guests an exotic escape to unwind after work with over 150 tequila and mezcal options and Baja-style Mexican food. It will occupy 12,294 square feet of rooftop space within the ‘Jewel Box’ retail building at 150 NE 8th Street, which will also be home to other recently announced concepts including Earls Kitchen + Bar, Sixty Vines, Bowlero and more.
“Villa One Tequila Gardens will create a unique entertainment destination within Miami Worldcenter with a special rooftop experience unlike anything else in downtown,” says Nitin Motwani, managing partner of Miami Worldcenter Associates. “Fusing Mexican-inspired cocktails and cuisine with modern Miami sophistication, guests will be transported to an exotic destination within Downtown’s dynamic urban core.”
The interiors may be just as striking as the skyline views it offers, with vibrant colors and textures inspired by Mexico. Designed by Mexico City-based KOM Studio, Villa One will feature luxurious textiles, shades of green inspired by agave fields and accent walls with neon signs.
Additionally, the main dining room will feature a raw bar and tequila tasting room with a tequila sommelier and an intimate speakeasy operated by a soon-to-be announced nightlife brand.
Villa One Tequila Gardens will join a growing roster of hospitality destinations at Miami Worldcenter, including three new food and beverage options by Ariete Hospitality Group’s Michelin-star-rated Chef Michael Beltran, Brasserie Laurel, Chug’s Express and El Vecino Cigar & Cocktail Bar. As of February 2024, more than 93% of the development’s retail space is leased.
