In the book written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the character of The Little Prince befriends a stranded pilot who he tells all of his travels to. 3. Laser Evenings at Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science
With epic laser visuals set to the music of Led Zeppelin, Taylor Swift, Daft Punk and more, the museum’s Laser Evenings are perfect for a brilliant night out. Once a month, kick back in your seat, put on your glasses and look up at mesmerizing lasers dancing around to legendary tunes, all under the planetarium’s 67-foot dome. 4. Tidal Cove Waterpark
From gliding down thrilling waterslides to floating along the lazy river, there’s plenty of fun for the whole family at Tidal Cove in Aventura! This spectacular water park part of the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort is perfect for sunny days and features a surf simulator known as the FlowRider, breezy cabana rentals and a 4,000-square-foot pool for the little ones.
5. Pinecrest Gardens
Venture to this tropical paradise in Pinecrest for an exciting day out with your kids. Discover some of the most beautiful and rare plants, encounter adorable animals at their mini petting zoo, cool down at the Splash ‘N Play pad and enjoy their adventure playground. Perfect for children of all ages, the ADA-accessible playground features whimsical, large-than-life animal play structures like a lizard ramp, spider spinner and more.
6. SkateBird Miami
Whether your children are seasoned shredders or don’t have much experience with a skateboard, Skatebird is the perfect spot to zoom around for a day, or at least learn to. 7. Fairchild’s Dragons & Mythical Creatures
All year round, families can have loads of fun exploring Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, spread across 83 acres. But there’s an enchanting experience taking over the grounds, now through October 1st. With Dragons & Mythical Creatures, all ages can spend the afternoon in a world of wonder, fire-breathing dragons and other storybook creatures. Several activities are also in store, such as a “A Dragoneers Waterquest” with water blasters and “Princess Tales & Tea on the Terrace” with delightful tales, tea and princess crown crafts.
8. Zoo Miami
No list of things to do with kids in Miami would be complete without mentioning the zoo! Known as the largest zoo in Florida and the fifth largest in the U.S., Zoo Miami is a great place to take the whole family. 9. Puttshack
Up for a competitive game of mini golf? With Puttshack’s interactive features, this tech-infused game of miniature golf takes things to a whole new level and it’s perfect for family night. Go head-to-head with trivia and skee-ball-inspired holes, and then refuel with a mouthwatering menu of food, including burgers and pizza. The venue welcomes all ages during the day, until 8 p.m. when it transforms into a playground for grownups.
10. Treetop Trekking
You’ll find Treetop Trekking inside Jungle Island and thrill seekers will love this exotic adventure. The aerial zipline adventure park boasts several exhilarating courses for adults and kids alike, with the Explorer and Thrill Seeker Treks for ages 9 and up, and the Discovery Course for ages 5 and older. 11. Homestead Cybrarium
Who said libraries can’t be fun? This modern library set in Homestead offers everything you expect from a traditional library (like a vast collection of books, for starters) in addition to a virtual reality cube, advanced tech, a children’s theater, arts and crafts and more. It’s also entirely free to Miami-Dade residents, but you’ll need a Cybrarium card which is different from a public library card.
