Hold my croqueta — I’m headed to Smorgasburg for some more!
Fellow foodies rejoice, a new heavenly food market is opening in Miami next year and it looks like it’ll feature all our 305 favorites! NYC’s beloved Smorgasburg is coming to Miami in March 2022 and we can’t wait.
The popular food vendor festival will be taking over Wynwood come spring. This marks the market’s third permanent U.S. location after NYC and L.A.
A play on the Swedish “smorgasbord” meaning a wide array of foods, the market first debuted in Williamsburg back in 2011 and quickly became a hit with NY foodies for its viral bites such as the Ramen Burger and the Spaghetti Donuts. Since then the incredibly popular market has opened satellite locations in Jersey City and Lower Manhattan and annual pop-ups in Sao Paulo and Japan as well as L.A.’s permanent market location that opened back in 2016.
Miami’s Smorgasburg will be opening in Wynwood on Saturdays and will feature 50,000 square feet of park-like space adjacent to Wynwood Walls for guests to sample dishes from over 50 food vendors and 10 retail vendors. In Miami, the majority of vendors will be local ones offering a variety of Miami favorites including croquetas, cafecito, pastelitos and more judging by Smorgasbutg Miami’s new logo.
Some of the confirmed vendors include Ted’s Burgers, Drinking Pig BBQ, The Sister Yard, and The Maize Project according to Eater Miami. But Smorgasburg is still looking for new vendors, which can sign up online on their website here.
Smorgasburg will be making its Wynwood debut in March and I for one plan to start lining up for a spot there right about…now! Promise I’ll try to save you some croquetas.
