With 1,350 miles of coastline, we’re very aware that we have some of the best beaches right here in the Sunshine State. What we might not know is which ones are the most incredible spots to be in and take pictures of! A new study has revealed the most Instagrammable beaches, and Miami Beach has unsurprisingly topped the whole list.
The study, carried out by Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort, looked at over 500 beaches across Florida’s coasts based on people getting that perfect snap. To reveal which ones are the most Instagrammed, the Resort tallied the total number of posts linked to the three most popular hashtags for each beach. Variations of hashtags were included, such as “#VeroBeach,” “#VeroBeachFL” and “#VeroBeachFlorida,” depending on the terms associated with the beach’s name.
Miami Beach came out on top as the most photogenic spot — of course — with over 9.08 million hashtags. As an iconic shooting location for films and shows like Scarface, Baywatch and Goldfinger, as well as having some of the best restaurants, shopping and stunning Art Deco architecture, this comes at no surprise. Not to mention, the city hosts millions of visitors each year as a popular vacation destination.
Located on a narrow barrier island off the Atlantic coast, the picturesque Palm Beach followed close behind with 6.21 million posts, gathering praise for its flowy palm trees and sandy shores. Last year, The Palm Beaches, stretching from Boca Raton to Jupiter, welcomed an all-time high of 5.19 million visitors.
Coming in third place was Clearwater Beach, with 1.79 million hashtags accumulated from the stunning Golf Coast destination. Home to a 1,000-foot-long concrete pier, this beach is commended for its watersports scene, such as windsurfing and parasailing, and exploring local marine life.
Rounding off the top five Instagrammed beaches are the beachfront shop-filled Daytona Beach with 1.63 million hashtags and
and Panama City Beach with 1.13 million, home to two stunning state parks, St. Andrews State Park and Camp Helen. A paradise for fishermen and scuba divers, it’s also famous for its artificial reefs.
