Whether you’re after some café Cubano to kickstart your morning or a creamy latte to sip on, Miami knows a thing or two about serving up a delicious cup of coffee. Which is why it makes it all the more impressive that one local spot has been named among the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops!
On the newly published list, Panther Coffee is the lucky spot to come in at number 30. Founded by husband-wife duo Leticia and Joel Pollock with the intention of bringing specialty coffee to Miami, the two launched the coffee company in 2010, which boasts multiple locations around the city. You can find Panther Coffee in Wynwood, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, Little Haiti, Brickell and MiMo.
They also operate three roasting facilities — two of which are in Miami and one is in Traverse City, Michigan.
While it didn’t make the very top of the list (that honor goes to Australia’s Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters), any position in a ranking of the very best coffee shops in the globe is worth celebrating!
Panther Coffee took to social media to share their excitement for the news, stating that they couldn’t be more grateful.
“A huge thank you to our incredible team, our coffee producers, and most of all, YOU—our guests, friends, and fellow coffee lovers—who make this journey so special every day,” their caption reads.
The world’s best coffee shops
To put together the list of the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops, it all began with a list of nominees selected by industry professionals and the general public. Analyzing everything from quality of coffee to barista expertise and ambience and atmosphere, an expert panel (70%) scored each coffee shop according to the criteria, followed by a public vote (30%).
According to the ranking, the top 10 coffee shops worldwide are:
- Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters, Australia
- Onyx Coffee LAB, USA
- Gota Coffee Experts, Austria
- Proud Mary Coffee, Australia
- Tim Wendelboe, Norway
- Apartment Coffee, Singapore
- Kawa, France
- Coffee Anthology, Australia
- Story of Ono, Malaysia
- Tropicalia Coffee, Colombia
