
Who needs to jet off on a culinary journey when you can go on one right here in Miami… at the airport. According to Food & Wine, Miami International Airport is one of the best in the nation thanks to its diverse dining destinations!
To determine who’s getting it right when it comes to airport dining, the publication polled over 400 chefs, travel experts, food and travel writers, and wine pros from across the globe before turning those results over to their Global Advisory Board, who ranked the top nominees in each category. Miami landed in the No. 9 spot as the best airport for food and drink, ranking just below Denver International Airport.

Listing MIA among “the most diverse American hubs,” Food & Wine praised the many pastelito, croqueta and sandwich options from Cafe Versailles, La Carreta Restaurant and Estefan Kitchen Express. They also accredited the ropa vieja and mojitos found at Ku-Va as some of the best.
But the flavors don’t stop at Cuban options.You can find southern flavors at Spring Chicken and Chef Creole. Additionally, the airport’s newest arrival, Jackson Soul Food, serves up fried catfish, meatloaf, candied yams, fried okra and collard greens to travelers in Concourse E.
They also named the airport’s “easy to use” mobile ordering service, MIA2GO, which allows customers to order in advance if they’re in a hurry.

What was ranked the best airport for food and drink?
Topping the Food & Wine list in first place is the nation’s busiest airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, which offers a “wide range of dining options for its 286,000 daily passengers.” The publication specifically highlighted their soul food eateries like Ludacris’ Chicken and Beer, Bantam & Biddy and Paschal’s.
In second is Chicago’s O’Hare, which has turned terminals into a pop-up festival thanks to its partnership with the James Beard Foundation. And in third, JFK International Airport with multiple institutions serving pizza, bagels, steak tartare and the classic New York cheesecake.
