As Hanukkah is set to begin on the evening of December 25th, Lincoln Road is getting ready for its annual menorah lighting ceremony!
The community gathering will kick off at 5:30 p.m., where friends, family and neighbors will mark the meaningful occasion by sharing traditional blessings and enjoying lively music. Of course, the main attraction is the lighting of the seashell menorah, which symbolizes hope and unity and will bring people together to kindle in the spirit of the eight-night Festival of Lights.
Standing at 13 feet high, the unique menorah couldn’t be any more Miami — it’s covered in thousands of seashells collected from the beach! Paired with a matching seashell dreidel, the sculpture is the work of Miami Beach artist Roger Abramson. It first went up on Lincoln Road in 2001 and has welcomed attendees of all ages to gaze up at it in awe ever since.
Following the shell-ebratory event, Lincoln Road will keep the festivities going with the Community Hanukkah Festival, a joyous event filled with tradition, music, spirited dancing and holiday treats. Taking place on Sunday, December 29th from 4 to 9 p.m., the lively atmosphere will also include the lighting of the menorah.
Both events are free and open to the public. Learn more about Lincoln Road’s annual Hanukkah lighting here.
