JetBlue has announced plans to launch nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS) in Maiquetía, marking its first-ever service to Venezuela.
The news comes weeks after American Airlines resumed its Miami-to-Caracas service, signaling a rapidly expanding network connecting both South Florida and Venezuela. For the largest Venezuelan population in the U.S., the influx of direct flights is a win for reuniting families and facilitating business travel.
About the new FLL–CCS service
JetBlue’s newly proposed route is expected to begin service before the end of 2026, pending government approval. The New York-based carrier plans to fly its Airbus A320 aircraft, which includes amenities like free Fly-Fi (Wi-Fi), seatback entertainment and complimentary snacks and drinks.
“Fort Lauderdale continues to serve as JetBlue’s gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America, and we believe there is meaningful opportunity to expand our presence in the region with planned service to Caracas,” JetBlue’s Dave Jehn, vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, said.
The airline is already prepping for its largest-ever summer schedule out of FLL, featuring nearly 130 daily departures.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets for the new Venezuela flights are not yet available, but travelers can expect them to go on sale in the coming months, per JetBlue. In the meantime, American Airlines is currently the only direct carrier for those looking to fly out of South Florida.
