Following the news that American Airlines was working to bring back its nonstop flights between Miami (MIA) and Caracas, Venezuela (CCS) after a nearly seven-year gap, tickets for the route are up for grabs! The Fort-Worth based carrier announced that travelers can now book their flights for the revived service, which will launch on Thursday, April 30.
The daily route will be operated by Envoy, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group, using Embraer 175 dual-class aircraft. If you’re looking to travel in extra comfort for the roughly three-hour journey, the planes feature a premium cabin and amenities such as free Wi-Fi and in-seat power to keep your devices charged up.
Here’s the daily flight schedule:
- Departing Miami (MIA): 10:16 a.m. ET, arriving in Caracas (CCS) at 1:36 p.m. ET.
- Departing Caracas (CCS): 2:40 p.m. ET, arriving in Miami (MIA) at 6:13 p.m. ET.
The renewed connection is especially notable for South Florida, home to the largest Venezuelan population in the U.S. American Airlines first began operating in Venezuela in 1987 and was the largest U.S. airline serving the country before service was suspended in 2019. The airline noted that this route resumption provides crucial links for business, humanitarian and leisure travel, while reuniting families and friends.
Tickets for Miami to Caracas are currently available at aa.com or directly through the American Airlines mobile app.
Round-trip tickets for the April 30 launch appear to be sold out on the website, but CBS News reports that main cabin round-trip fares are estimated between $1,500 and $2,000 throughout May, while business class seats are pricing out roughly between $3,000 and $3,900.
