If you’re anticipating all the tricks and treats that come along with the Halloween season, then you’re in luck. South Florida’s biggest Halloween experience, House of Horror Haunted Carnival, is coming back to haunt Miamians and it looks like it’ll be their scariest to date!
Known for its scare actors’ make-up, elaborate costuming and unusual themes in addition to carnival rides, food and games, HOH is one of the most highly anticipated events in the fall. In fact, the freakish carnival has been scaring the living daylights out of the so-called unafraid for the last 20 years!
Although this innovative horror experience continues to draw in generations of thrill seekers every season, this year is no different. There’s four terrifyingly haunted houses set to take over an abandoned department store in Miami International Mall. Trust us when we say you’ll barely have time to catch your breath between houses!
So get ready for their newest experiences, which have been ompletely re-done to maximize their scare factor: The Silent Mall, DrownTown, Insanitorium and Scare X Studios.
The Silent Mall focuses on a terrifying creature, Misshhhell, who will unleash her own level of “hell” upon you. You want to try and stay quiet — if you dare to enter. In DrownTown, the undead are overflowing in an abandoned town seeking their revenge. Be quick or risk becoming a permanent resident! Then check into Insanitorium, where no health insurance is needed. Isn’t that great? But Former patients have taken over the treatment of nervous breakdowns and panic attacks. By that point in the maze, we’re sure your nerves are shot.
And cleared of almost all paranormal activity (key word: almost), the immersive Scare X Studios is being brought back where gaming and imagination takes center stage.
If major scares aren’t your thing — whether it’s in the form of a haunted house or a coaster — but you still want to join in on the Halloween fun, HOH plans to incorporate special themed nights, including an adult Costume Contest on Halloween night, so be sure to check them out on social media for those drop dates!
