There’s even more exciting news for Miami’s soccer fans: FIFA has announced that the Hard Rock Stadium is one of 12 venues selected to host matches for the reimagined 2025 Club World Cup!
The expanded competition will see 32 of the world’s best clubs play for the official title, kicking off on June 15 and continuing through July 13. This includes clubs from each of the six international confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.
Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are among the 12 qualified European teams while Argentina’s River Plate and Boca Juniors and Brazil’s Flamengo are among six South American teams.
“This new FIFA competition is the only true example in worldwide club football of real solidarity and inclusivity, allowing the best clubs from Africa, Asia, Central and North America and Oceania to play the powerhouses of Europe and South America in an incredible new World Cup which will impact enormously the growth of club football and talent globally,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The teams will go head-to-head at a number of stadiums across Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium); Charlotte (Bank of America Stadium); Cincinnati (TQL Stadium); Los Angeles (Rose Bowl Stadium); Nashville (GEODIS Park); Orlando (Camping World and Inter&Co Stadiums); Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field); Seattle (Lumen Field) and Washington, D.C. (Audi Field). The final will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The Hard Rock Stadium is also set to host seven matches during the 2026 World Cup games, which you can find a schedule of here. The last time the U.S. hosted the tournament was in 1994 and it’ll be the first time in history that it will be spread across three countries: The USA, Mexico and Canada. Talk about a truly global celebration!
But back to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, it is not yet known how many games the Miami Gardens stadium will host. However, a draw will be held in December, which will see the 32 teams divided into eight exciting groups of four. The tournament match schedule will be published shortly after the draw.
You can learn more about the upcoming tournament on the FIFA website.
