Miami’s very own soccer icon, Lionel Messi, is setting his sights on the entertainment industry with the launch of his production company.
Named after his hometown address in Argentina, 525 Rosario aims to develop and produce a wide range of content. This includes premium TV, film, live sports and community events, in addition to branded content and commercials for athletes worldwide.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner announced the news to his millions of followers on Instagram with the caption, “Bienvenidos a @525rosario…”
The new venture has been formed with Smuggler Entertainment, the production company known for producing the Apple TV+ docuseries “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend” and “Messi Meets America.”
“Entertainment has always been a passion for me whether that be on the pitch or in other areas,” Messi said in a statement. “I’m really motivated by the opportunity to pursue the project we created with Smuggler Entertainment and to expand it further to create content and experiences on a global scale through this new venture.”
525 Rosario will also be headquartered in Miami and Los Angeles, operating under the supervision of the Messi family. In a statement, the family added: “The goal remains to inspire and connect with people around the world in a completely new way, and we are looking forward to this venture.”
