The Hard Rock Cafe is closing its Bayside outpost after 33 years, resulting in a loss of 117 jobs that include servers and bartenders, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
Best known for its guitar signage and music memorabilia, the octagonal-shaped restaurant has been a fixture of the outdoor mall right along Biscayne Bay. Its final day is scheduled for August 19, capping off a three-decade run since it opened in 1993.
In a statement to the publication, the company said its lease it up this year and it has decided not to renew it.
Today, the restaurant stands as one of the very few Hard Rock Cafes in the world built by the water, integrating the brand’s signature rock edge with the city’s tropical atmosphere. On the menu, guests find American classics like steaks, burgers, fries and milkshakes, as well as indulgent desserts like brownies and ice cream. They also offer a brunch menu on weekend mornings.
You can still get your Hard Rock fix at Bayside (401 Biscayne Blvd) before it closes. The location is currently hosting World Cup viewing parties throughout the tournament and serving the newest Messi Legendary Burger.
