Remember the last time Giralda Plaza was home to an Umbrella Sky? Another canopy of color by the same artists are back this fall, adding some much-needed shade and vibrancy for visitors along the promenade!
Named Giralda in Bloom by Impact Plan, the original designers behind Umbrella Sky Project, the free art display is currently on view through October. It features hundreds of floral-patterned umbrellas swaying above the plaza, perfect for selfies!
The Umbrella Sky Project started out in Portugal, filling public spaces with fuchsias, blues, yellows, greens and oranges overhead. After moving to France, Spain, Japan, Norway and even the Gables back in 2018, a new umbrella installation has found its way back to the city for an enchanting backdrop.
It’s one of two installations for the city’s 2026 Giralda Sky Series, joining Cielo Tejido: A Woven Sky earlier this summer. It featured colorful handwoven textiles created by women artisans from Etzatlán, Mexico and designed to bring art, culture and community together.

While there are plenty of exciting things to do in Miami this fall, including a range of museums and attractions offering free admission, Giralda in Bloom offers a uniquely multicolored display as you linger and take photos with friends, the family or on a solo adventure.
You can find the installation on the 100 block of Giralda Avenue. Stay up to date and learn more on the Coral Gables website here.
