Miami Spice has finally returned to give foodies the chance to experience some of the city’s best restaurants offering prix fixe menus at a lower cost. And while nothing beats an affordable meal, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and the City of Miami Beach are helping diners save a few more bucks by rolling out free rides to over 60 eateries!
The deal is in partnership with Freebee, a rideshare service headquartered in South Florida that offers on-demand rides in electric vehicles, with the goal of helping locals get around the culinary scene easily and affordably.
For the duration of Miami Spice, from now to September 30, Freebee’s eco-friendly vehicles will service a designated area of South Beach south of 17 Street. This is the area with the highest concentration of participating Miami Spice restaurants in the city.
All Miamians have to do is download the Freebee rideshare app and select the destination “South Beach – Miami Spice.” Those whose homes or hotels are located within the designated area can get picked up and dropped off. Those riding out of the designated area can park at the following city parking garages that will also serve as Freebee pick-up locations:
- 13 Street and Collins Avenue
- 7 Street and Collins Avenue
- 15 Street and Washington Avenue
- 12 Street and Drexel Avenue
- 17 Street and Convention Center Drive
Freebee will operate Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
In a release, City of Miami Beach Commissioner Laura Dominguez said:
“Our partnership with Freebee reaffirms our commitment to providing sustainable mobility solutions for our community. This new transportation service will not only reduce local traffic and long valet queues but also help drive business for our restaurants.”
