If you’re into time traveling, historical wonders and dressing up in creative costumes, then this might be just the thing for you. The 33rd annual Florida Renaissance Festival is returning for eight weekends of medieval merriment and the good news is that it’s about an hour’s drive away from Miami!
Each year, Deerfield Beach’s Quiet Waters Park transforms into a bustling village from the past with multiple stages, a marketplace, artisans, savory bites, drinks and no shortage of characters – from kings and queens to knights and fairies.
Attracting tens of thousands of visitors, the festival makes its noble return on Saturday, February 1, where attendees can take part in the kingdom’s many offerings like fun games, human-powered rides, thrilling joust tournaments and plenty more.
Enjoy everything from turkey legs to cotton candy from the many on-site vendors. There are also vegetarian and vegan options. Or join an epic pub crawl taking you through five pubs to sample the Fynest Ales of the realm!
Themed weekends are as follows:
- Feb. 1-2: Jester’s Jamboree – A Gaggle of Giggles
- Feb. 8-9: Valhalla’s Call: A Saga of Fire and Ice!
- Feb. 15-16: Heartstrings and Heraldry: A Valentine’s Weekend
