The famous grocery store is known for its private-label items such as their Speculoos Cookie Butter, Jo-Jo’s Cookies, and Two-Buck Chuck wine. And although it is originally from California, Trader Joe’s takes pride in its immersive approach to neighborhoods. For example, 85% of the new location’s employees hail from Coral Gables and neighboring cities. As part of its “Neighborhood Shares” program, the store will also be donating 100% of all unsold, consumable products to local nonprofit, community-based organizations.
The new Trader Joe’s in Coral Gables will cover 9,600 square feet and, like many other of the grocery store’s locations, it will be decorated with murals of famous local sites such as the Biltmore Hotel and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
Trader Joe’s will kick off its grand opening in Coral Gables this Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:55 a.m. after which shoppers will be invited in by captain Marsha Morris and her crew. The store will be open for shopping from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and there will be balloons, giveaways, and samples for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. Shoppers can also expect live music and entertainment all day long, so get your shopping carts ready for an awesome day at Trader Joe’s Miamians!
