Miami officials announced the cancelation of Calle Ocho Festival.
Yet another festival is getting canceled due to the spread of coronavirus. This morning, city officials announced that the Latin American music festival, Calle Ocho, was also getting canceled. Miami commissioner, Manolo Reyes so tweeted it this morning before the city was expected to make a public announcement about Ultra Music Festival getting canceled this year also due to fears of the spreading coronavirus.
The safety and health of our residents is always our first priority. For this reason, the @CityofMiami and the organizers of Calle Ocho Festival have agreed to cancel this year’s event.#Miami #Manolo4oneMiami

Little Havana’s Calle Ocho Festival draws crowds in the thousands year to year in celebration of Latin culture, music and food. As part of Carnaval Miami, the festival was set to happen on Mar 15, now it’s been canceled like Ultra Music Festival which was supposed to take place later in the month. In light of these cancelations, we wonder if any other of the upcoming Miami festivals will get canceled as well. We will make sure to keep you updated on all the latest developments though!
