Beach day before sunset drinks at The Cleat
Driving out to Key Biscayne always feels like a getaway without actually getting away, but the real magic lies at the very end of the island. Spend your afternoon at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, where the historic lighthouse (or El Farito) watches over some of the calmest waters in South Florida. And when the sun starts to dip, make your way just outside the park to open-air bar The Cleat! This hidden gem located within No Name Harbor is arguably one of the best sunset spots in the city. There’s nothing like sipping a Farito Mojito with your feet dipped in the sand, watching the sky turn purple as you look out to the sea of boats.

Moonlight Garden Tours at Vizcaya

You may have visited Vizcaya Museum & Gardens by day, but seeing it under the glow of moonlight is a completely different experience. These special evenings allow you to wander the Italian Renaissance gardens during the night, where crowds are gone and the atmosphere shifts. We can picture it now: walking along the bayfront with the twinkling lights of the city behind the stone barge as you feel like you’ve stepped into a different era. We’re definitely keeping an eye on our calendars for the next full moon outing!

Coffee and a cult classic in the Gables
If we could describe the coziest day out in Coral Gables, we’d have to start at the iconic independent bookstore Books & Books on Aragon Avenue. Enjoy a matcha or a glass of wine in their open-air courtyard, surrounded by bookshelves and Spanish-tiled floors. It’s the perfect spot for people-watching or cracking open a new read (which, if you don’t have one, you’re free to browse the shelves). Afterwards, simply cross the street over to Coral Gables Art Cinema, a haven for local cinephiles! Catch a 35mm screening of a cult classic for foreign-language film here.
