After being deemed one of Forbes’ “New Ivies” and ranking as the top best-value university in all of the U.S., one Florida institution is gaining national recognition once more.
TIME has released its inaugural list of America’s Best Colleges for 2026-2027, and locals would be pleased to hear that not one or two, but three Florida schools made the cut!
Which Florida universities made TIME’s list of the top colleges in the U.S.?
Joining some of the most prestigious institutions in the country, the University of Florida in Gainesville landed a spot in the top 20. Its overall score came in at 89.14 out of 100, with ‘student outcomes’ at 94.74 and ‘attractiveness’ at 94.83.
Here are the three Florida universities that made TIME’s list and their placement:
- No. 16 – University of Florida
- No. 53 – Florida State University
- No. 62 – Florida International University
How was the inaugural list put together?
TIME partnered with data research firm Statista to create the ranking, evaluating 500 U.S. colleges and universities based on the following criteria: student outcomes, learning environment and attractiveness to students.
