Now this is what we call sliding into the weekend! Aventura Mall’s shiny slide tower is reopening its doors (or, well, its drop-off) this Saturday, November 22, and we’re all about reliving our best childhood memories in style.
The spectacular, functional artwork was brought to life by acclaimed German sculptor Carsten Höller for the mall’s 2017 three-story wing expansion. Rising at nearly 100 feet tall, it features not one, but two spiral steel slides that you can actually ride down! Höller is famous for his large-scale works that draw upon amusement parks, playgrounds and zoos, and he wanted to bring a sense of joy and a feeling “somewhere between delight and madness” to the slide.
How to ride the Aventura Mall Slide Tower
Whether you’re enjoying the exhilarating drop from the inside or marveling at the whimsical structure from below, this ride is a blast, no matter how old you are. And here’s the best part: it’s completely free to ride! Just ascend the spiral staircase, hop onto a special rug for a smooth descent and enjoy the rush!

The Aventura Slide Tower is typically open for slides every weekend, from noon to 8 p.m. You can find it at the outdoor courtyard, near the Apple store. Keep an eye on their website for the most up-to-date dates.
While you’re there, be sure to check out the Aventura Farmers Market going on all weekend-long (throughout the lower and upper levels), and explore the new Eataly on the third floor!
