Looking for your next favorite spot to grab some drinks? Little Havana’s popular Café La Trova may be your answer! This beloved Cuban bar and restaurant is no stranger to recognition and accolades, and it has recently made it on this year’s edition of The World’s 50 Best Bars 51-100 list.
Awarded by independent drinks experts, renowned bartenders and educators, the extended 51-100 list features bars from 35 cities with 12 new entries spread across London, Singapore, Madrid, Toronto, Dubai, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Hiriketiya and Kuala Lumpur.
And while Café La Trova came in at 66th place, it’s worth mentioning that this is the only Florida bar to make it onto the list!
On its menu, you’ll find award-winning cocktails by founder and famous mixologist Julio Cabrera. Options include the usual classics like mojitos and daiquiris as well as the house’s own concoctions with a Latin twist, such as the award-winning “Buenavista” cocktail with Bombay Sapphire gin, cucumber, mint, elderflower liqueur, lime juice and sugar.
To accompany the sips, Café La Trova also has some incredible Cuban dishes by award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein. She offers her own take on the cuisine with dishes such as skirt steak ropa vieja, rabo encendido pasta and tapas like gambas al ajillo and focaccia lechon sliders.
The World’s 50 Best praises the local establishment for its ‘cantinero’ style of bartending, classic cocktails and lively atmosphere. There’s live entertainment every night, with authentic Trova musicians complimenting your dinner and drinks.
As for first place on the list, aka THE best bar in the world, look no further than Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City. It’s the first time a Mexican bar has received the title, but who needs to fly all the way over there when we’ve got our very own award-winning bar right here in the 305?!
