Sometimes the best nights out in the city are the ones you have to hunt for. Tucked away on Brickell Avenue, just behind DC Pie Co., sits an antique British telephone box. Most passersby are completely oblivious to it but if you know the secret code, this seemingly random booth swings open to reveal Miami’s swankiest secret.
With Prohibition-era glamour, warm amber lighting and plush leather sofas, the aptly named Red Phone Booth offers a turn-of-the-century cocktail selection, exclusive cigar program and the perfect spot to enjoy yourself after a day in the hustle and bustle of the city.
To get inside, guests must step into the phone booth and dial a secret code on a vintage rotary phone. The only way to score this code is through old-fashioned word-of-mouth, or by requesting a temporary pass on their website.
Cigars, cocktails and scratch-kitchen bites
While the sophisticated lounge boasts a walk-in humidor and an onsite tobacconist, heavy-duty air filtration keeps the air crisp and clean for smokers and non-smokers alike.
On the drinks menu, presented in a gorgeously-produced cocktail book, signature pours include the Smoked Old Fashioned, Left Bank Martini and an abundance of Espresso Martinis. For guests wanting to enjoy a bite, Neapolitan-style pizzas made with imported Italian flour, Meatball Sliders, Mediterranean Hummus and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail complement the drinks.
While Red Phone Booth is open to the public (if you have the entry code that is), annual memberships starting at $400 are an option for guests to take advantage of priority reservations, specialized pricing, spirit and cigar lockers and an upstairs “Mafia Room,” which features billiards and a poker table.
