In a city dominated by clubs, bars and restaurants, this colorful distillery and cocktail bar is bound to be the new Miami hot spot.
Jointly owned by NFL pros Mike and Maurkice Pouncey and real estate expert Kim Rodstein, a new distillery has opened in the heart of Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood, joining popular attractions like the Rubell Museum and Superblue Miami. It’s set to offer guests unique experiences such as tours, tastings, cocktail classes, food trucks and more.
Aptly named Tropical Distillers, the beautiful 8,000 square-foot space has been totally transformed with an in-house cannery, as well as a 30-seat bar and tasting room decked out in pastel hues, vintage wallpaper and touches of old school Florida tropical throughout!
The distillery is home to J.F. Haden’s Liqueur and features mango, espresso and citrus liqueur, made with Florida-grown fruits and free from preservatives, artificial colors or flavors, offered onsite and for distribution nationwide.
“Tropical Distillers doesn’t fit any mold,” said Buzzy Sklar, Miami hospitality veteran and CEO of Tropical Distillers and J.F. Haden’s Liqueur. “We are one-of-a-kind in Miami offering locals and visitors alike a unique cocktail destination that is not only entertaining and tasteful, but also educational. Our distillery pays tribute to the city we love so much, from the all natural ingredients we use to the decor.”
On Friday and Saturday nights, guests can tantalize their taste buds with creative craft cocktails by mixologist Amanda Perez, such as Cafecito Martini, Floridian Martini and an array of frozen drinks.
If that wasn’t all, Tropical Distillers also has a 1,500 square-foot outdoor deck with additional seating and access to local food trucks. There’s also a gift shop with branded merchandise as well as exclusive distillery-exclusive products.
Tropical Distillers is located at 2141 NW 10th Ave., Miami, FL 33127. For more information on Tropical Distillers, J.F. Haden’s and to book a guided tour (available Thursday through Sunday at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.), visit their website here.
