We can’t believe it’s been 25 years since the release of James Cameron’s award-winning Titanic. To mark the occasion, a remastered version of the film will be released in cinemas on February 10, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
If you cried during the 1997 original (I sure have), then make sure to bring tissues because this remastered version will be more powerful and vivid than ever before. The re-release is in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame rate – a vast improvement on the once cutting-edge visuals of the original.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, you’ll see Jack and Rose as you’ve never seen them before on what will soon be the 111th year since the sinking of the ship, Titanic. It’s a story that never fails to pique interest – the ship that left Southampton with 2,240 passengers on board and never returned.
Thousands of passengers and crew lost their lives when the Titanic sank and it’s really a tale of human hubris as the ‘unsinkable’ ship left the port with fatal flaws and not enough lifeboats to save those on board. The film itself centers around star-crossed lovers who came from very different walks of life, but this very intimate view of two lives really serves to humanize those who died on the ship nearly 111 years ago.
So, get ready to sob on February 10 as the film Titanic comes to the big screen once again, more vividly than ever. Tickets are not available yet but we’ll update you as soon as they are so keep your eyes peeled for more details to follow. Until then, you can watch the brand-new trailer above!
