Taking its name from the waterway that flows along its northern edge, Little River is one of Miami’s oldest neighborhoods. It was established in the late 1800s and incorporated into the City of Miami in 1925. If you find yourself in Little River nowadays and are unsure of what to do, know that it is becoming a vibrant area with excellent, Michelin-recognized restaurants and some of the most unique hangout spots the city has to offer. You know how much we love a neighborhood guide here at Secret Miami, so here are some of the best things to do in Little River:
1. Get your brunch on at Rosie’s
We have to start off with one of our favorite brunch spots — because you know how much we love ourselves a good one. At Rosie’s, a well-known soul food concept, you’ll find Southern-inspired plates curated by chef Akino West, who owns and operates the restaurant with his wife Jamila. Indulge in their Wild Mushroom Polenta, made with charred kale, a poached egg, herb gremolata and parmesan; or fluffy Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, topped with sweet macerated berries, ricotta and toasted, crushed pistachios.
In case you missed it, they’ve moved to an indoor location just steps away from their previous space! Check them out at their new location:
📍 162 NW 73rd St, Miami, FL 33150
2. Get your coffee (and motorcycle) fix at Imperial Moto Cafe
When you walk into Imperial Moto Cafe, you’re greeted with brick walls, vintage motorcycles, industrial decor and most importantly: great java. This unique coffee shop pours an array of coffee, from cappuccino to flat white, in addition to smoothies and teas. Pair your drink with any of their empanadas or pastries and unwind in their cozy space, perfect for getting work done or spending time with friends.

3. Shop around for vintage finds at Little River Flea
Little River Flea often pops up in the neighborhood (and other times in Little Haiti or Wynwood), to spotlight dozens of local and sustainable businesses. In addition to vintage clothes and vinyl records, the market also sells goodies like handmade jewelry, home goods, candles, art and more. There’s plenty to find here so make sure to drop in and see what you can take home!

4. Find your next read at Dale Zine
If you’re in need of a little inspiration, you should stop by Dale Zine. This adorable book shop with checkered floors is filled with artist-made books, zines, prints and more. Fostering a sense of community, Dale Zine also hosts events throughout the year, from Art Book Club meet-ups to Happy Zine — a micro-press fair celebrating local printmakers.

5. Dance the night away at Understory
Nestled among trees and twinkling string lights, Understory is a lovely outdoor oasis offering live music and a rotating selection of food and wines. 6. Find the best roti at B&M Market
A list of things to do in Little River wouldn’t be complete without a mention of B&M Market & Roti Shop, one of the longest-running West Indian grocery stores in all of the city. An unassuming locale established in 1980, not only can you stock up on fresh market ingredients, but you can also dine on delicious Caribbean dishes like oxtail stew, jerk chicken, rotis and more. You might even recognize the shop from an episode of “Parts Unknown” with Anthony Bourdain.
📍 219 NE 79th St, Miami, FL 33138
7. Hang out at Hagerty Garage + Social
Hagerty Garage + Social isn’t just a place to store luxury cars — it’s the best place to see and talk cars. This Little River newcomer is a great hangout for automotive enthusiasts looking to watch “the game” on a large-screen TV, hold corporate gatherings, or work at a workstation, all within distance of an Aston Martin or a Ferrari. Although these perks can be enjoyed with a social membership, Hagerty Garage + Social often holds events and watch parties that are open to non-members, like an F1 watch party and Father’s Day celebration.
📍 355 NE 71st St, Miami, FL 33138
8. Soak up the panoramic views from The Citadel’s rooftop
When at the Citadel, you can taste your way through a dozen of their locally-loved vendors or make your way to the second floor to spend time in one of our favorite drinking dens, Bar Kaiju. If you really want to take things up a notch, head up to the food hall’s lush rooftop with your food or drink and soak in the downtown Miami skyline.
