After making its mark in Austin, Texas, the upscale Sushi | Bar is headed to a Miami Beach hotel just steps from the Española Way promenade.
Omakase restaurants are no stranger to the city. In fact, omakase restaurants have been taking off in Miami for quite some time because, well, who doesn’t love leave-it-to-you sushi? Opening on the ground level of the Esmé Miami Beach Hotel on September 20, the new location expects to welcome 36 guests to its 12-seat counter every evening for a stellar 17-course experience.
Helmed by executive chef Ambrely Ouimette — one of the country’s only female omakase chefs — The sushi is the main focal point of the menu, of course. You can expect the freshest fish flown in from Japan, Australia and California.
While the menu will shift almost daily, signatures include Aged Bluefin Akami with dehydrated red miso and everything bagel spice; Hokkaido Scallop with white truffle salt, shaved black truffle and spherified truffle caviar; and Kanpachi with pineapple, passionfruit, shishito vinaigrette and shaved coconut.
In addition, nightly diners will be offered drink pairings from sake and cocktails to wine and beer. Like its other locations, Sushi | Bar intends to transport you to a sexy and mysterious atmosphere that fades into a friendly, intimate experience between chef and guest, like traditional Japanese sushi bars.
Sushi | Bar Miami is located in the Esmé Miami Beach Hotel at 1435 Drexel Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139. The restaurant will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. (seatings available at 5 p.m.; 7:15 p.m.; and 9:30 p.m.). Reservations for the following month launch on the first of the month on a first come, first served basis. Visit their website here.
